Visit to this Sussex Wild Trust Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. This is one of the largest and most important wildlife sites in England, set in an exceptional coastal and wetland landscape and home to more than 4,355 species of plants and animals including 300 that are rare or endangered. There is a large visitor centre with a cafe and great views of the reserve with toilets. We suggest you may either like to buy lunch from the cafe or bring a packed lunch to eat on the seating outside.

Travel: This is a bit further than we normally travel for our outdoor meetings, 37 miles each way but hopefully it will be well worth it.
Car sharing is encouraged so do let us know if you are able to offer a lift or would like to be offered one. Fuel costs are so high now, it is expected that car owners should be offered a contribution by those being given transport.
Accessibility: The discovery visitor centre has good access. The website says they are a wheelchair friendly venue, with a step-free, entrance ramp to the visitor centre. There are toilet facilities, including two that are wheelchair accessible and one that offers baby changing facilities.
For visitors with limited mobility, we offer mobility scooters that are available when booked in advance. We just ask that you send us an email, 48 hours before your trip to RHDCOffice@sussexwt.org.uk surfaced paths around the reserve.
Parking: at the Rye harbour car park (just outside of Rye) see their website for directions
There is no charge for members of the Group nor 18 year olds and undergo join the visit. Non members are asked to contribute £1.
