Details: Matthew Hatchwell will be giving the talk, about the natural history of the European Eel, its conservation status, protection, and cultural significance. Eels are now a critically endangered species. You may not be aware but eels use the rivers and Faversham creek and the Thames Estuary for part of their life cycle. Talk followed by Q&A. Matthew has worked on conservation projects worldwide is a former director of Conservation at London Zoo, he is now a Trustee of Jersey Zoo and the Chair of the Trustees at the Durrell Conservation Trust.
